On 15 October 2025, the Macau European Chamber of Commerce held a general meeting which unanimously elected a new leadership for the 2025-2027 term.

At the meeting, Ms. Echo Chan, nominated by the Irish Chamber of Commerce of Macau, was elected as the President of the Board of Directors. She stated,”I sincerely thank our members for their trust and support. I will humbly and with a strong sense of responsibility perform the duties of the President of the Board of Directors, committed to working hand-in-hand with everyone to advance the work of the Chamber.”

The outgoing President of the Board of Directors, Mr Rui Pedro Cunha stated,”I am very glad that Ms. Echo Chan accepted the challenge of leading MECC in the next two years. Her experience and drive will contribute greatly to the success of MECC, and I am glad to provide support as Executive Vice President.”

The incoming leadership thanked the preceding one for their hard work and welcomed the new members of the governing bodies.

From its beginning in 2015, the MECC EuroExcellence Awards have celebrated local leaders in the categories of Luxury, Food and Beverage, Blue & Green Innovation and Greater Bay Area Sino-Euro Cooperation. This forms part of our mission to support Macau’s sustainable development, global business networking, and the city’s progress as a unique hub of Chinese and Western cultures.

This year, we are very pleased to announce the introduction of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) category into the Awards, to inspire leadership in a key pillar of the local economy.
